The approved baseline methodology applied to this project is the approved ACM0001 - Consolidated Baseline Methodology for Landfill Gas Project Activities.
Justification of the choice of the methodology and why it is applicable to the project:
ACM0001 was developed as a consolidated document that incorporates all previously-approved methodologies applicable to landfill gas project activities where the baseline scenario is the partial or total atmospheric release of landfill gas and the project activities include situations such as: the captured gas is flared. For the proposed project activity, the baseline scenario is the total atmospheric release of the gas, and the project activity is the flaring/destruction of captured gas; as a result, ACM0001 is applicable to the project activity.
The ERUs exchange mechanism provided under JI is considered as a real and concrete incentive in the decision to proceed with the project activity and the project activity will not be initiated without JI.
