The landfill site is in operation since the 1994 and it will be completely closed approximately in about four years. Annually there are dumped approx. 350 000 tons of municipal solid waste. The dumped waste consists of approx. 95% municipal solid waste (MSW) and 5% bulky refuse.
During the remaining four years of operation one compartment after the other will be filled to its maximum capacity and will be closed subsequently. Immediately after a landfill compartment will have reached its maximum capacity, it will be covered with a final insulation layer of clay, landfill gas wells will be installed and will be connected to the collection pipe grid and recovering of LFG on the respective closed compartment will be started.
